If you haven’t watched Wynonna Earp before, you’re in for a treat.  This show has something for everyone--angels and demons, witches and vampires, immortals, and romance--you name it, it’s in here!  The show is based on the comic book series written by Beau Smith.  The fan base is called Earpers, and they literally helped save the show when a lack of funding from IDW Entertainment, who produce the series, put Season 4 in jeopardy. The fans put up Billboards in Time Square (and other locations) with the hashtag #FightForWynonna, e-mailed and tweeted IDW, SYFY, and NBC Universal, the parent company of SYFY, to get the show back on the air.  There are EarperCons all over the world just for Wynonna Earp, and the cast tries their best to be present at all of them!  This is a well-loved show with fanatical fans, a kick-ass cast, and showrunner, Emily Andras, who comes up with all the paranormal activity and romance within Wynonna Earp’s hometown of Purgatory.

The premise for the series is, Wynonna Earp (Melanie Scorfano), is the great, great, great granddaughter of lawman, Wyatt Earp.  A curse has been placed on the Ghost River Triangle (of which Purgatory is a part) and the Earp descendants.  Wynonna, as the oldest living Earp descendant, must return to Purgatory when she turns 27 in order to rid the town of Revenants (who rise from the dead on the heirs 27th birthday), criminals who were originally killed by Wyatt Earp.  The only way to break the curse is to kill all the Revenants with Wyatt Earp’s original 12-guage gun, Peacemaker.  Peacemaker is no ordinary gun.  It has supernatural powers and can only be wielded by Wynonna to send the Revenants back to Hell.

The other characters in the series include an immortal Doc Holliday (Tim Rozen), Wyatt Earp’s famed partner;  Waverly Earp (Dominique Provost-Chalkley), Wynonna’s younger sister; Sheriff Nicole Haught (Katherine Barrell), Waverly’s love interest; Retired Sheriff Randy Nedley (Greg Lawson); Bobo Del Rey (Michael Eklund), leader of the Revenants; Jeremy Chetri (Van Saranga), an Earp ally; Mercedes Gardner (Dani Kind), a high-school friend of Wynonnas; and Robin (Justin Kelly), Jeremy’s love interest.  There are many other guest stars during the series that you will recognize including, Megan Follows, Zoe Palmer, Anna Silke, Shamir Anderson, Chantel Riley, and Tamara Duarte.  The one liners come fast and furious, so much so, that I often have to watch the show twice to catch all of them!
